Objective
See how newly forecast demand differs from the original forecast for the same dates and workstreams.
Environment
- You have access to a generated forecast with a completed baseline and a completed reforecast run.
- You know which date range, queue, and channel you want to compare.
Resolution
- Open the forecast and select the Forecast tab. In Inbound Volumes, use the same dates and queue scope for the original forecast and the reforecast overlay. Read the chart labels to distinguish forecast, actual, and reforecast values.
Compare the actual series with the baseline forecast and reforecast for the same queue and date range. The example shows the actual series through the latest observed interval and forecast lines extending into future dates. - Select Reforecast and open the completed run. Check its Run time, training window, and reforecast window so you compare the intended run and period.
- In Incoming Comparison, select a Queue scope and Channel scope if the run includes several workstreams. Read the reforecast total, observed incoming volume, and accuracy.Note: Accuracy needs actual data
Accuracy is unavailable for future intervals until those intervals have elapsed and actual data exists.
- Compare the direction and size of the change for the same scope. Review Required Coverage Preview separately if coverage has been calculated for the run; demand and coverage are different measures.
To inspect an earlier run, use How To Review Reforecast Run History.
