# How To Import A Schedule (From A File)

## Objective

Turn an existing XLSX or CSV schedule into an editable ZenOps draft.

## Environment

- You have permission to manage **Scheduling**.
- You have an XLSX or CSV file containing the schedule you want to import.
- You can confirm the intended people, dates, timezone, and shift or activity labels in the file.

## Resolution

1. Open **Workforce Operations** → **Scheduling**, select **New Schedule**, then choose **Import Schedule**.
2. In **Upload and Analyze**, drop an XLSX or CSV schedule file or select **Browse files**. If relevant schedule data is on hidden sheets, select **Include hidden sheets in AI analysis**. Select **Analyze file**.
3. Keep the import page open while ZenOps uploads the file, parses its sheets, and analyzes the layout, people, dates, and shift labels. The review step appears when analysis finishes.
4. In **Review mappings**, check **Import Readiness** and **AI Interpretation**. Expand **View AI assumptions and mapping rationale** when you need to check how ZenOps interpreted the file. Confirm the **Schedule name**, **Timezone**, **Start date**, and **End date** against the source schedule; correct any inferred value that is wrong.
5. Resolve **People mappings** and **Label mappings**. Match detected names and labels to existing records or complete the offered creation details where appropriate. If the file contains daily hour totals, review the business schedule and productive activity settings used to turn those totals into work intervals.
6. Select **Validate dry run**, then inspect the issues and **Validated Preview**. Resolve blocking issues and decide whether any skipped source rows are acceptable. Select **Confirm dry run** when the preview matches the schedule you intend to create.
7. Select **Create draft schedule**. Open the new draft in the planner, check several representative agents and dates against the source file, and correct any remaining differences before publishing.

The import creates a draft. Agents see only the schedule that is later published. For planner navigation, see [How To Review An Existing Schedule](/help/articles/review-an-existing-schedule/).

## Notes on this article

### Important: Review the validated preview

After step 6 in resolution. The import can skip source rows with unresolved issues. Check the issue list and preview before you confirm the dry run and create the draft.
