# How To Configure Adjustments

## Objective

Record an expected demand change for the future intervals a forecast will predict.

## Environment

- You have permission to manage **Forecasting Settings**.
- You know the expected change, its start and end date and time, and which queues it affects.

## Resolution

1. Open **Forecasting Settings** → **Adjustments**. Review existing entries and check whether one already covers the event.
2. Select **Add Adjustment**. Enter a **Name**, **Type**, **Expected change**, **Direction**, and the **Start Date and Time** and **End Date and Time**.
3. Under **Queues**, select the affected queues. Leave the selection empty to apply the adjustment to all queues. Add **Notes** when they will help planners recognize the reason, then save.
4. Confirm the new row shows the intended value, queue scope, date and time range, and active state. Edit or deactivate an incorrect entry before using it in a forecast.

To mark an unusual historical period instead, see [How To Configure Outliers](/help/articles/configure-outliers/).

## Notes on this article

### Important: Past adjustments have no effect

After step 2 in resolution. Adjustments apply only to intervals the forecast predicts. To correct abnormal history, mark that period as an outlier instead.
